Lagrime Consort

Vocal polyphonic music from the Renaissance is the trademark of Consort Lagrime.

Melodic lines and text emerge when combining the word painting of this repertoire with differentiation in sound and timbre on renaissance recorders.

Verena Barie, Sophia Schambeck and Irene Sorozábal met in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as students of Erik Bosgraaf. While specialising in the vocal repertoire of this period Consort Lagrime has worked with singer Rebecca Stewart, as well as recorder players María Martínez Ayerza and Hester Groenleer and performed with the choir Capella Stella Maris, led by singer Mikae Natsuyama.
